Others have expressed it better than I couldve.. so sad. His dad posted earlier today on his facebook page, and it was hard for me not to get teary-eyed.. I cant imagine what his parents are going through..

I'm glad I wasn't in my seat at the time, and didn't see it. I remember watching Craig Jones get killed a couple years ago in WSS, and that was hard enough. This is incredibly sad. Put a damper on the whole rest of the day for me. His dad's post on facebook was just devastating. Colin Edwards (Sr. and II) were close friends with Peter and the whole Lenz family, and they're pretty torn up about it. I've never seen CEII so somber as in his post-race interview.

We got word of it via text message not long after it happened. I think it was just before the Moto2 race started. Race direction decided not to announce anything over the air or over the track PA, since some family members had not yet been notified.

Chris Kruzel is making up memorial decals, to be ready by this weekend's AMA round. If anyone's interested, PM him on here or get ahold of him on FB.

Please remember the rider who hit him in your prayers as well. To have that sort of thing to deal with, at 12 years old, has to be incredibly rough.

Truly a tragedy, my thoughts go out to him and his family. I cant begin to comprehend what they are going through.

Sadly, this is what comes with racing motorcycles, I hope his spirit finds peace and that the other boy involved in the accident can live through this experience without too much emotional trauma.

    RIP Peter

oh shit! this is really sad. i've actually been following him and watched his vids on youtube to actually try and pick-up some pointers on riding. he was definitely a special kid with an enormous amount of talent that would've definitely taken him to the world stage and become champion.

    Godspeed.

I'm still trying to process what happened in my head, especially having a son myself.

it does not matter really @ this point, but it looked as if he hit full throttle and a rider infront of him slowed signifigently for some reason, they were on a straight part of the track....he must of jamed his front break running into the rider infront which sent him tumbleing head over.......and then came the rest of the field.....
