    Default Ontario Riders... and Insurance.

Hey there guys I was just wondering if you could post up who insures you.
I am just doing some research for work.
Also if you could give me your opinions on what companies you consider to be the best in terms of claims assistance and price.
    (Motorcycle Insurance)

    Thanks.

All the larger companies are raising prices this year.
I think at bare minimum we're looking at 10%
They are trying to recoup their losses.

I work at a brokerage, and one of my many projects is to find the Best Motorcycle Insurance products for Ontario Consumers...

So please do feel free to give me your thoughts.

    Thanks

I work for a bodyshop company and I was talking to a few of our preferred insurance co. They have all said that they have payed out pretty much what was taken in. But why do we all suffer? If I didn't have any claims last year why does mine go up for the idiots that have speeding tickets or accidents? Just because their profit margin wasn't big enough last year doesn't mean we need to give them more money! Just a quick rant, sorry.

    Hey ... No worries...
I pay my insurance premiums too, and I always shake my head when there is an increase, especially considering I HAVE NO CONVICTIONS! lol

It's just one of those things. State farms increase is supposed to be the largest as far as I know.

Insurance companies Losses isn't always the amount they pay out in claims but monies lost in investments as well. Their losses this year are more than claims, but tied to the economy I'm sure.

Rant away. I can take it.

Yeah I know when they take a shit kicking in the market, we take it in the premiums! I really don't think SF is that far out of line, I had an at fault accident and mine only moved up $120 for the year.
Thank god because i thought for sure I was going to see it go through the roof!

I am going with State Farm. Premiums are great and service has been wicked the two times I have needed them. The first time a woman backed over my new r6, $4500 pay out and no rise in premium. The second time, not at fault, had a guy turn left in front of me. Wrote off the bike with no hassles around getting market value.

Forgot to add - State Farm covered of my gear as well and were very quick with the pay out.

^ I'm glad to hear that you had a good experience.
You do know that they have to pay out your gear right?
Also you can fight them to get the price you want to get for your property.

They will always come out with an offer the first time that is less than what you deserve, (unless the car/bike is BRAND NEW and it's in your policy to get full price in the first year) You can counter.
    Always do you're homework.

I suggest getting clippings of vehicles that are the same year make and model as yours from Auto Trader or any site that people resell their bikes, and submitting them to the insurance company and stating that this is what fair market value is.
Typically they will counter closer to what you should get for the vehicle.
That goes for your gear too.
Helmets, jackets, gloves, what ever it is... if they are damaged claim them. Get your money and buy new gear.

(all this is assuming you're not at fault)
If you're at fault you might want to limit your claim to the bike.
They keep track of what they've paid out to you.
    It's like a rap sheet ...

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
