    Default R6LIVE Canadian Track Day!

Alright guys, as mentioned a while back....let's get this thing organized.

Track season is starting very soon and i'm sure many of you are looking forward to getting in some trackdays.

Who would be up for a R6Central trackday? I'm thinking we go to Calabogie since it's somewhat in the middle of the major cities.

Some dates with Pro6cycle.com are May 18, 19 and 20 (Mon, Tues, Wed).

I'm sure that it would be an awesome time meeting some of you. Let me know what you guys think.

Im guessing things didn't pan out this year. But for the record I did my first track day this summer and would definitely be interested in getting something together next year.

naw it didn't happen, i didn't even do 1 trackday this season. I had a lowside that turned ugly in the twisties in the begining of the season and it put me out until just recently. I promised myself i'd do a bunch next season so we really gotta get this thing going.

Where did u do your first trackday? and how was it?

Where in Canada would you go? I'd be willing to drive up if it weren't too far up. Maybe organize something next year. I'm about 3 1/2-4hrs from the boarder.

I'm in for a track day next season, if not more. Since I started late this year there just isnt enough time or money to get geared up for track for me yet.

Eric, there are like 4 tracks in Southern Ontario, Calabogie ( near Ottawa I believe)

    Shannonville ( near Bellville)

Mosport ( just north of Bowmanville) all three of these are east of Toronto on the map.

And TMP ( Toronto Motorsports Park) in Cayuga .....which is nowhere near Toronto btw its out in Niagara area, about an hours drive or so from Buffalo, maybe abit more.

The plan for me is to get my 1pc leathers over the winter and other extras I need and hit the track a few times next year. So I'm in for an Official R6Central track day next season please keep me informed if you organize something.

I did the FAST Racing School at Shannonville and it was phenomenal. Only did phase 1 but I am hoping to complete phase 2 and 3 next year. I found the most beneficial part of the day was tailing the instructors, following their lines and trying to keep up with their pace. I also liked that I chose to ride my own bike as opposed to riding one of the rentals they offer like everyone else did. Gave me a great amount of confidence in my bike.

I am hoping to do at least one track day at Mosport next year simply because I hear it is the best in the area. Anyone else have opinions on this?

I did Calabogie and it`s a very challenging and a nice track. A lot of different kind of corners. I really enjoy it. The funniest part of Calabogie its that the track is only 3 years old which means you don`t find any bump/hole at all! The track is very smooth and grip a lot.

Mosport is totally different. I never been there but I want to try it. Mosport is a much faster track than Calabogie. Next year I`ll do Calabogie again, Mosport and Shannonville during night. (I`m living at Belleville which 15 minutes away from Shannonville and a local guy here organize track evening session which cost $55 or $85 each time depending of the track configuration for 3 hours & 2 groups. You get about half the track time that you get on a full track day since you go out more often).

It`s weird but I kind of like Shannonville because it force you to get used to bad road condition. It`s very bumpy but you found out that your bike can stick very good even that. You only need to watch for the concrete patch which is not THAT bad....

BTW Calabogie definately worth the extra money to go there 2 days in a row. The track is kind of long to get used to. it`s 5.5 km long so...Also, I`m sure my trailer can handle 2 bikes, so if anybody needs help.

For those that haven`t seen my pics:

    We need to organize something.
