Introduction
In an effort to make our management of the forums as transparent as possible, we have refined our member and posting guidelines and we have created a set of moderator guidelines. It is our hope that we can better satisfy members by being upfront and clear about what we expect from everyone.
We want to give all our members as much freedom as possible while maintaining an environment that encourages productive discussion. It is our desire to encourage our members to share their knowledge and experiences in order to benefit the rest of the community, while also providing a place for people to come and just hang out. To accomplish this, we have decided that a set of guidelines interpreted by our moderators is the best way to move forward.
Micromanaging every member, thread, post, or word is not something we are interested in. Every situation is unique, and we don't feel we can provide the type of forum we want by strictly defining the subject matter and content we allow here.
We also intend to encourage respect and responsibility among members in order to maintain order and civility. Our social forums will have a relaxed atmosphere, but other forums will be expected to remain on-topic and posts should be helpful, relevant and professional.
In order to accomplish the goals we have set forth, members will be expected to abide by the Member and Posting Guidelines provided here. Failure to do so will result in our team of moderators taking action. The options available to a moderator in managing apparent violations of our guidelines will be set forth in our Moderator Guidelines.
Forum Rules (01.00) (01.01) Do not use our Forums to post any material, or links to any material, which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violation of any law.
(01.02) Respect individual forum specific rules. Some of our specialized forums have additional guidelines posted within that are expected to be understood and followed. This is especially important in our For Sale/Trade, Want to Buy/Trade, and Hot Deals forums.
Board Comments/Suggestions/Help Forum(01.10)
The board comments and suggestion sections is to be posted in if you have a comment, suggestion, problem or need help with an issue you are having with the board. This section is needed to make sure that all things are taken care of in a timely manner and all problems are addressed.
(01.10.1) This section will be a no post whoring section. All posts which are not on topic and do not provide a positive solution to a problem will be deleted. We have had numerous complaints that questions are not being answered fast enough, so to speed up this process this action is necessary. Repeat offenders will lose their posting privileges.
The Marketplace (01.20)
The Marketplace is a members only section to buy, sell, or trade your stuff. If you're looking to sell your bike, parts, gear or even your old XBOX - this is the place to do it.
Guidelines for Sellers(01.20.1)
(01.20.1.1) Thread Titles - Pleade provide a quick but detailed title to your thread, including any vital information (IE: size, condition, price and your shipping location).
(01.20.1.2) Bikes For Sale - All threads in the "Bikes for Sale" section need to be titled in the following format:
(Prefix): (Bike year) (Bike make) (Bike model) - (Bike color) - (Title status) - (Price) - (Location)
e.g. - FS: 2005 Yamaha R6 - Red - Clear Title - $7500 - Irvine, CA
**All non-compliant threads will be edited or deleted without notice. **
(01.20.1.3) Descriptions - Please provide a detailed description of the item(s) you are selling. Make sure to include all the important information: size, color, condition, etc. If your item(s) have any flaws, please disclose them - just be upfront and honest.
(01.20.1.4) Photos – If you have photos of the item(s) for sale, post them! The more photos you have the better. Make sure you take photographs of questionable areas; such as scratches, dings, markes, etc. Please remember to resize any large resolution images so they fit naturally within the page width.
**If you do not know how to post photos, please read this How-to.**
(01.20.1.5) Pricing – All items posted within The Marketplace must have a price, including "Best Offer" items. This is not eBay, and your items do not go to the highest bidder. The R6L is a community of friends, so be fair when posting your prices.
(01.20.1.6) Location – Please make sure to add your location (or the shipping location) to the thread's title and description. Sometimes providing a zip code will help the buyer out in determining how much shipping is going to cost.
(01.20.1.7) Shipping – If possible, ship items with shipping companies that provide tracking numbers (most all do). Make sure to provide the tracking number to your buyer via PM or email as soon as possible.
(01.20.1.8) Ebay/Alternate Forums - We do not permit any links to other sites in the first post. Any threads that start with a link to eBay or another forum or site will be locked, and the link edited. If your item does not sell here within 1 week of the initial post, an eBay link may be added in a reply. Keep in mind that the Marketplace is here to give members a chance to exchange items, not to advertise your eBay auctions.
(01.20.1.9) Bumping – Excessive "bumping" or replying to a thread to keep your ad at the top of the list is frowned upon. Please keep it to one bump per 48 hours. If you have to bump your thread more than once per 48 hours, then there is probably a lack of interest in your item from other members.
(01.20.1.10) Multiple Item Listings - If you are selling or trading multiple items, please refrain from using 10 separate threads to list each item individually. Consolidating all of your items into one thread saves space on the page for other sellers' business.
(01.20.1.11) Buyer/Seller Rating – Make sure to give your buyers the best experience they can have, otherwise your Seller Rating will suffer. Once the transaction is completed, please make a thread about your experience in the buyer/seller feedback forum.
(01.20.1.12) Vendor/Group Buys - To protect members and our sponsors, please contact an admin for permission before posting these types of For-Sale threads. Failure to do so will result in your thread being locked and deleted. Please refer to the Group Buy forum rules for more information.

Guidelines for Buyers (01.20.2)
(01.20.2.1) Ask Questions! – If you are unsure about an item, make sure to ask questions about it. Ask to see actual photos of the item (if there aren't any posted), and look over the photos carefully. You don’t want to receive the item only to notice that there's a problem with it.
(01.20.2.2) Seller Rating – Look over the sellers feedback. If there's an issue, ask questions or feel free to PM a moderator if you are concerned.
(01.20.2.3) Payment – Try to avoid sending cash. Use a certified money order whenever possible, or a Credit Card through a trusted service like PayPal. Paypal is a great internet business tool, allowing you to send/receive money and keep detailed records. Keep in mind though, that Paypal’s money back guarantee isn’t as solid as your credit card company's.
(01.20.2.4) Shipping – Request that the buyer uses a shipping company that will provide a tracking number. Once you have received the tracking number, verify it with the shipping company either online or in person.
(01.20.2.5) Buyer/Seller Rating - If you were pleased with the transaction, make sure to post a thread in the buyer/seller feedback forum! The opposite is also needed - if you had a bad experience or had problems with the seller, please post a thread in the buyer/seller feedback forum with all pertinent information.

Guidelines for Viewers (01.20.3)
(01.20.3.1) Giving Input – Providing your view and opinion is welcome and encouraged, but let’s keep it to the general rule ‘If you have nothing nice to say then keep your mouth shut.’ For instance - letting someone know their asking price might be a little high is OK, but telling them ‘You’re nuts thinking you're getting that for that piece!!!’ is NOT OK.
Member and Posting Guidelines (02.00) (02.01) We ask for respect and common decency towards your fellow forum members. This includes adhering to the following guidelines which will be enforced via a combination of member request and moderator discretion:
(02.02) No trolling, flaming or personally attacking members will be tolerated either via Posts or PMs. Deftly attacking ideas and backing up arguments with facts is acceptable and encouraged. Attacking other members personally and purposefully causing trouble with no motive other than to upset the crowd is not allowed. While Central Park and the Tail Section will be more loosely moderated, if your violation of these rules becomes excessive, you will be warned and banned if necessary.
(02.03) If any member feels that a particular post is in violation of any of these rules, they are invited to report the post by clicking on the icon located in the lower left corner of each member's post (below their post count). When that icon is clicked, the reporting member will be prompted for a reason, and an email will go out to all the administrators and moderators of the R6Live. Please do not abuse this function.
(02.04) Post in the right forum. Topics posted where they don't belong will be moved. If the subject matter of a topic is broad or vague enough to fit into more than one category, please only pick the one that seems to be the best fit. Threads on the same topic are not allowed to be cross-posted in multiple forums unless moderator approval is granted in the rare case that it is appropriate.
(02.05) Thread topics should have a simple, descriptive title. The title should be descriptive enough to give readers a general idea of what the thread is about. Profanity and NSFW language is not allowed in thread titles. If you feel you MUST use profanity, please censor at least a portion of that word out. Example: F@#K!
(02.06) Tags are a function that can enhance the browsing experience and attract people to our forum. If you are found to be habitually posting off topic tags you can lose your ability to use this function and also possibly result in further administrative action.
Not Safe For Work (NSFW) (03.00) (03.01) Material that is not safe for work (NSFW) in any way is not permitted to be posted outside the Tail Section. This includes (a) avatars, (b) signatures, (c) posted links, (d) thread titles, and (e) embedded media that may be viewed as offensive or harassing in the average workplace.
(03.02) Material of a mature nature is allowed ONLY in the Tail Section forum, and we ask that members use some discretion when posting things of a violent or purely offensive nature. Keep in mind that questionable material is subject to editing or deleting at moderator discretion, and as with U.S.C 18 § 2256, please make sure any NSFW material you post doesn't violate any international laws.
(03.03) Please properly title your posts so members don't have to see something they do not wish to.
Spam (04.00) (04.01) Spamming will not be permitted. On topic references to your personal commercial matters are permitted on a limited basis and at moderator discretion. Multiple quick useless posts, posts designed to generate traffic to specific web sites, and flooding the Forums will not be tolerated.
(04.02) Accounts found to be created solely for spamming purposes will be deleted immediately.
Multiple Accounts (05.00) (05.01) Only one account is allowed per person. We have various ways to check if accounts were started by the same person. We may also moderate new accounts based on strong circumstantial evidence or the appearance that they may be secondary accounts. Having multiple accounts is a bannable offense.
(05.02) In households with more than one person who regularly visit the forum, please make sure each person has their own individual account and username.
(05.03) If you've been given a vacation or a ban, do not create a new account. If you have an issue or question, please discuss the matter with our Administration via email admin@r6Live.com.
(05.04) If you've been given a vacation or a ban, having another member post for you or forward posts for you is not allowed. In the event that this occurs, BOTH members will be banned.
(05.05) Usernames will not be changed except in cases of typographical errors at registration, or in other extreme cases at the discretion of the Admin team.
(05.06) Any questions about multiple accounts are to be directed to a Super Moderator or Admin.
Member Privacy (06.00) (06.01) Respect other members' privacy and do not post personal or private information of any other member without their expressed permission.
(06.01.1) This includes posting private messages(PMs). No posting of PMs. This is a bannable offense.
Administration Harassment (07.00) (07.01) Baiting moderators will not be tolerated. Any action that can reasonably be considered baiting a moderator, or multiple consecutive actions that heavily push the boundaries of any of these guidelines will in result moderator action. Repeated violations of this rule may result in being permanently banned.
Our moderators are volunteers who work hard to keep the forums a hospitable place for everyone. Please respect their dedications and commitment to fair and balanced treatment of our members.
Avatar and Signature Sizes (08.00) (08.01) Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post. The maximum size of your custom avatar is 110 by 110 pixels or 200.0 KB (whichever is smaller).
(08.02) Any images shown in signatures need to be 500x150 pixels in size, or smaller. In addition, a total of two lines of text may be included in your signature. If you do not have an image, a total of seven lines of text are allowable. Please note that this is assuming normal font size. Larger size text will need to be of fewer lines.
