Wouldn't be so bad starting out stupid... because you wouldn't know any better.
But starting out smart, knowing you should be smart... and becoming stupid would be no
    fun.

I assume you'll be fine soon enough though. I'm not a neurologist, but I would think there's a medical solution, or some kind of mental rehab that can get you back to normal.

    Good luck to you!

after my crash at the track, i had a very bad concussion. my short term memory was so shot that i couldn't watch a movie because i couldn't remember what happened the scene before.

it took about 9 months for things to sort themselves back to normal.

there's alot of fustration and anger especially when you know you're not 100%.

pm me if u want to talk...i'll tell you what the dr.'s told me.

After my crash in January of 07, I've found my short term memory seems to be lacking more than it had before. When I talk to new people and they introduce themselves, I play hell trying to remember their name 5 seconds in to the conversation.

It's pretty bad, and I'd say that is single handedly my biggest problem is remembering people's names after my 1st wreck. Totally sucked. I whacked my noodle pretty good in January of 07, 70MPH straight down on the asphalt on my domepiece from about 8 ft. in the air. Blunt force head trauma, bleeding in my right ear canal, (hearing was funny for about 4 months after the wreck,) spraned neck, fractured eye socket, 2 black eyes, all sorts of badness. And that was just my head injuries!

I dont think it' uncommon to feel not all there, I mean your knowledge nugget takes a beating floppin around in your skull when you take a serious tumble. Hopefully it gets better for you.

hmm i had that too. except it wasn't blood. it was just liquid...and my dr. freaked out thinking it was brain fluid. but i couldn't hear properly out of my left ear for a long time.

the best way to describe it is that your brain is a filing cabinet, a crash is knocking the cabinet over and papers are everywhere.

i would jumble words in sentences, and type dyslexic. it was weird...but i found little things helped (like doing crosswords and wordsearches) and that in time it got better.
