Red face Finally happened... I dropped my bike

So the other day I dropped my r6 for the first time ever . Thank god for frame sliders because nothing was scraped or hurt (just my pride).

I pulled over into a parking lot and went to check my phone, didn't put the kickstand down and was balancing on my left leg with my right still on the other rear set. I get my phone out of my jacket pocket, and as I did that I apparently leaned a little to the right which got the bike leaning and it was all over from there.

I looked around, no one was there to see me thank god so I picked it back up, checked my phone and rode off. Now I put either both feet down when stopping or I put the stand down and set it down.

With that being said, I thought I'd take this time to ask about the "proper" way to lift a downed bike. I didn't have much trouble picking mine up, but I'm just curious if there was a better way of doing it.

Lift with your legs..not your back. Only proper way is one that wont injure you..thats alot of dead weight to get off the ground. Its always better to make sure its in gear so its not trying to roll while you lift it...and of course make sure the kick stand is down that way if you do lift it back up it doesn't tip back over on the other side.

Score, looks like I did everything right except I didn't have the kickstand down... That's a good idea, thanks.

Not too bad honestly...The worst part was the brakes didn't work, I just put the hose to it for about 30 minutes while it was still goopy

There is technique for bigger bikes like Harleys but I've never had an issue just picking up any sportbike; even with a broken hand.

    Here it is.

No clue how I've done it...

    ... all 9 times. lol

Everytime consisted of me trying various positions until it finally came up. Usually get it by the 5th try.

I was sitting behind a Harley on a hill at a stop light last week and when he went to take off he tipped it over. Luckily he had highway bars on it, so it wasn't laying flat on the ground. He tried picking it back up while sitting on it :, so I got off my bike and picked it up for him. The funniest part was that he had a fat chick on the back....she fell off and rolled across the pavement.
