3M sticky tape - used on the GoPro cameras

where can i get it?

i need to remount one of my semi-permanent mounts and highly doubt that the sticky tape i used will be reusable...unless someone here knows how?

3M VHB 4991 double-stick tape

is exactly what they use i found out. i sent an email to gopro asking where i can get some but i know they are just going to push me to buy their grab bag of mounts. Which i might do someday, but its too soon to the TD to get them in time from cali.

so i guess if no one knows where to find that stuff, where can i go to get some extremely stick tape, prefer 3M, to hold the camera mount in place?

target/walmart/best buy type store, or lowes/home depot type store?

Grainger's the only place I could find. Shit's expensive as hell though. The 4991 is $46 for a 5yd roll of 3/4" and $61.50 for a 5yd roll of 1" wide.

There are 16 Grainger locations in Ohio, one being in Columbus. Only problem is you may need to have an account there, but worth a try.

i heard they use that stuff for mounting body work on cars, so try a body shop or auto parts store.

go to the body work section of say a Pep Boys, Auto zone, Advance Auto etc. Ive bought 3M double sided tape from Pep Boys in the past

3m VHB tape isn't exactly a "temporary" tape though. it will take some care and scraping to remove.
VHB tapes are used for industrial applications. which is why you wont find it in a average store.
we use it to stick very large sheets of 3/8 and 1/2 inch glass together that sometimes weigh 700lbs.

the regular mounting tape (grey with a red plastic backing) is all you really need. and you can get that anywhere. lowe's, homedepot etc.
