Yeah go figure. The two dealers around me that sell Triumphs are kinda of anal. One is a SUPER small dealership that is lucky they have 3 new bikes in stock at a time. The showroom is about the size of a one car garage. I think they treat all their stock at "sacred" , so if someone dumps a demo bike, they are out a bike until they can afford the next bike.

The other place heralds Triumph as thier "premier" line. They mainly sell Yamhies and Honda's and polaris ATV's...etc. So only if you have cash in your hand so they let you touch. They also used to be a Ducati dealer years ago until they dropped em. I remember they had 996's on pedestals behind ropes and you had to pretty much give them a down payment to even get behind the ropes to sit on em.

There's another dealer upstate too, i think they might be more lenient.

I just read the october Motorcyclist and they put the 800XC up against the 800GS and they seemed to like the 800XC more. I found it interesting, but then again I'll take that article with a grain of salt. If Outrider journal did a trip/story/article with a 800XC and came back impressed it would have my attention. But a multi-platform mag like motorcyclist probably only put 1 or 2 days of demo riding on it on streets, backroads and 50 miles of cali trails. I dunno it just doesn't sit well with me. But if it really is a game changer for the 800's, it be hard pressed not to look into one someday in the future. Plus it would be nice to get BMW on point again. I think the last 10 years BMW had this market cornered and they have been getting lazy (in a way). I mean, really the 650's have been unchanged, the 800s are the same. And even the 1100/1150/1200's are really the same bike over the years with just new engines, looks and gizmo's. But on the other hand, they are like Jeeps or Rover Defenders; Why change em when they do what they are made to do perfectly. Im hoping they dont turn next years 1250 into a pile of shit.
