BMW currently suffers from issues with...

Engine gaskets not seated correctly and blowing oil
Rear wheel bearings that grenade themselves at 5000 miles
Final drives that blow to bits
Gas tanks that expand and crack leaking gas

Those are enough issues for me.

So... Asians like me don't have souls?

It's the same reason people buy luxury cars over economy cars. Because they have the money for it, appreciate what it represents, and most importantly because they like it. Why care about anything else. Let them chase what makes them happy.

I didn't say that asians doesn't have soul, I said that all the japanese bike are pretty much the same. I love my R6...I want something different for next bike that will be a different experience. I doubt that jumping from a R6 to a GSXR or a ninja I will feel a different experience...

Current GS/GSA/F800GS/F650GS models. I was sold on a blue and white F800GS or Red R1200GSA till I started doing research and saw all the issues. I decided to go back to Japanese bikes and hopefully not have to deal with it.

For now the Tenere is great. It has 4 miles on it. Haha. If it doesnt snow anymore this week I plan on trying to get 250 or so miles on saturday. I will let you know more then.

The BMW S1000R also has fork geometry issues on the track. Ask anyone who rides/races one, you have to buy a new set of triples to make it work.

I love Ducati because they make styling just as important as performance, this new 1199 is so sexy.

Joe I always hated the 749/999's in photos, but when I saw yours, damn that think was sexy. Just something about Ducati gets to me.

Edit: Also, if Bayliss comes back again I will shit my pants.

Agreed. Stock suspension on my S1 was less than desirable, but i do demand a lot from my machine too. R/T forks made it all ok though

As for the topic in hand. 1199 is on my "Honey to do list" for later this year or next year. I need to get something German, something very brutal on 4 wheels 1st.
