Have you been keeping and eye in the for sale section of Band Of Riders.net - BORN & New England Streetriders ? Now is teh season that people unload the summer toys. Marks Motorsport in Enfield just took in a blue second gen R6 not sure hat he is asking though. The upside down forks on the 05's were not that special, not bad just not worth making a huge deal about having a 05. The conventional's on the all the other years are easier to tune and the lil extra flex add to the handling.

Yeah i been on Born, usually poke my head in there once a day, but there hasn't been anything up for sale yet. There's a 08 675 up for grabs, but too rich for my blood. But im in no rush either. Maybe in the dead of winter ill find something. Plus the money aint quite there yet. I have PilotTom's (BoRN) old TLR here yet. If i could unload it, that would help a ton, but nows not the time to sell. So I figure if i can wait over the winter, buy a bike then, then hopefully sell the TLR in the spring and ill be in a good position. Right now im just coming up with bike ideas and years to look at and get a ball park for some numbers. Alot of it revolves around the TLR's value which is about 3800-4000. If anyone wants it, lemme know.

triumphs share alot of spare parts with jap bikes so getting things like filters levers etc isn't a problem

if your not ridin' your not livin'

I love my 2005 R6. I track it couple time already and I couldn't be happier. Well yeah if I had a 1098 or a 675 but beside that I am happy.

I rode a Triumph 675 when my friend had one and it has a lot more character than any Japanese bike. If I had to start over again I would go with the 675 Triumph. However, they are not quite as comfortable as the R6 thought. But coming from a GSA everything will feel uncomfortable....

Also, when I go to the track R6's and GSXR, Ducati and triumph are the most popular bike in the area...

As far as size, get the bike that you are the most comfortable driving. You won't have the skills to push any of those bike to their limits anyway.

As far as suspension settings or how they behave, I am pretty sure they are all close and your "opinion" or "what you think they are" probably don't reflect reality much. All 600's bike are good (Honda, yamaha, kawasaki, suzuki and triumph with their 675) I like the Triumph because it stands out.

As far as torque goes, if you lack torque that means you are in the wrong gear....Downshift!! Really we are talking minimal difference...However, like I said, the Triumph feel torquier but what buy me to it is it's sounds, grownling, looks, feels.

A good analogy is a Mustang. I would never buy a V6 mustang. I will buy a V8 5.0L mustang even if it had 200hp. Just for the sounds, the growling, the feel of it. I can't careless that I am 0.5 sec slower than the next bike. If I have a big smile in my face, that make the experience a lot better than saving half a second. Samething apply to bike. I will buy a 1098/1198 before buying a S1000RR. The 1098 is sexy, sounds great/ different even if it's slower, I don't care...

As far as 2nd gen, you won't feel the difference between an 03/04 R6 and mine. The only advantage to mine is that tire are easier to find because of the different front tire.

I honestly wanted to get a 675 five years ago. I actually went in to buy one in 2006. But the only trumpet dealer at the time near me had only ONE left in orange. I missed it by ONE day. I had to do something the day before, but the day after I went to go look at and buy it, someone beat me to the punch. It was august so that was THE LAST 675 untill the 2007's came in. So i said shit....they made me a deal on the 2006 50th R6 on the floor and that was that. SO maybe thats saying something... GET A 675!

But if i could, it would feel weird. Cause my buddy just bought a 675R a few months back, now semi wrecked. I mean, Ill do what i damn well please, but wouldn't it bug you if you just bought a M5 then a day later your buddy shows up in a M5?

I do like the 2nd gen R6 idea the most so far. As for downshifting...yeah i did that ALOT on the 06. But you get lazy when the other bike makes double the torque. The 1098 put out damn near 100+ ft lbs. The Tiller right now puts out 98 i think.

Maybe it is time for a Brit in the stable. I wanna record the war in the garage. A british 675 and a german R12GSA......hmmmmm. Maybe i should draw a little mustache on the GSA.

Well if you buy an 05 R6 I will be willing to go meet you up somewhere so we can ride... I won't have a GSA soon anyway and I told you that when I get one we will do a ride together so, if you get an R6 (or any sportbike really) we could do something. You are not "that" far
