Im pretty sure they dont make the hydrolic preload adjuster for the later model R6s. I know when I got mine they didnt. The issue was lack of space for the remote adjuster. Anyway its not a big deal. How often are you going to adjust your preload anyway?

Having the high and low speed compression adjusters is nice.

The shock itself was excellent on the track this year.

Also an important note, all of the damping adjustments on the ELKA shocks don't require a single tool, which is incredibly nice.

That is a good point. Just remember to get the spring rate right because its a bit of a bitch to change the shock in the newer R6. Its real tight and unless you drill through your subframe the next easiest way is lifting the tank to get at the top shock mount.

Ew, that sucks. Another reason to stick with my 04 for awhile yet!

Its not a huge problem but if youre racing and you need a quick change its a bit of a pain. We have it down to about 15min to swap the shock. That includes pulling the seat, steering damper and its pain in the balls shim stack, and lifting the tank. Kind of a bad design by yamaha as well as the tank shape The only bike that I had a harder time pulling the shock on was a goldwing. First time through took about 8 hours of labor. Believe it or not I had to pull the dash off the bike to get the shock out.

I have to adjust the preload from certain tracks to certain tracks...

I have the remote preload adjuster and it is so much easier to do than to use a spanner wrench. Money well spent for me.

I agree, I too like the shock but may be leaving it for an ohlins I just picked up. I will compare the two and see what I like better. I have ridden ohlins and penske on the same bike with the same front end....all valving was done by the same person. As for the rear it felt compliant, just a little rebound heavy.

Great shock....lots of fast guys like stern and kovarick are on them at willow.
