The 3-way has the high and low speed adjustment.

The 2-way only has 1 adjustmenet.

With the hydraulic preload it is a separate adjuster that is easier to adjust, you can mount it on the subframe up and out of the way and change it on the fly. For most people the non will be much more worth it. If you must have the best than that is you all the way.
