R6Live.com Hot Deals Forum Guidelines

Welcome to the R6Live Hot Deals Forum! Before you post, please take some time to read the rules for this forum.

Unlike websites devoted to coupons, bargains and "deals," the R6Live Forums are devoted to the Yamaha R6. Our Hot Deals forum is provided as a convenience to our members. That is why we ask that any Hot Deals posted please be related to the R6 or motorcycling in some way.

What is a good topic for a new thread?

New threads are for posting the deals you have found. If you wish to ask questions about a particular site or deal that is posted, please refer to an already created thread about said website or deal.

If you are looking for deals on particular items, please use the search function.

How should the thread be formatted?

Thread titles should contain what item the deal is for, and the level of the discount, such as 10% off, or $50 off, Free Shipping, or in some cases the actual price. If applicable, please also include any restrictions on the deal, such as "Limit one" or if the deal only applies to a certain locality, as is the case with a deal at a retail store.

The body of the thread should contain a link or other contact information for the deal. If the deal is at a retail location, please try to include the address and/or phone number of the store. Also include any other pertinent information that would be required to get the deal.

What is a Hot Deal? Here are a few examples:

* A discount coupon on a vendor's site.
* Info about a good "price match" situation.
* Links to store ads and reposts of store ads, especially if they contain a really great deal. You might include a "heads up" about the specific deal in the thread title and/or your post.
* Links to listings for parts or items on eBay or Craigslist to great deals, especially if they are on hard-to-find parts or items. (NOTE: This is still a buyer-beware situation, and links to deals on eBay and Craigslist should be treated with the usual caution)
* Info regarding a dealership that may be selling bikes for a great price.

What about COUPONS and PROMOTIONAL CODES?

There are no restrictions on posting coupons or promotional codes in this forum. However, please be respectful of promotional codes that you may have found being offered to members of other groups or forums, and not to our own directly. We wouldn't want a deal offered to us specifically spread all around the internet, because that may hurt one of our Sponsors, so please don't do it to another forum either.

What other kinds of posts are not permitted?

* No SPAM!
* No group buys. We have another forum for that.
* No contest threads.
* No posting of your own personal For Sale items in this forum. Just because you're selling your Akrapovic full exhaust for $50, doesn't mean it belongs here. Use the For Sale forums. However, if you work for a business that sells motorcycle-related items and you would like to offer them for a discount to our members, you may be allowed to do that, so long as it does not interfere with the ongoing deals we already have from the Site Sponsors.
* No posting of referral links and no soliciting or requesting referrals by PM either.

What about ETHICS?

If you question whether a deal is real or a mistake, call or write the company, and ask. If it is a valid deal, post it. If it isn't, DO NOT post it.

What about COURTESY?

No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread. Also, if you see a thread for a deal, and know of a better one, post that deal in a new thread, rather than "one-upping" the original poster in their own thread.

Stick to discussing the deal. Do not post needless rude or trivial comments about someone else's posts. Flaming can only hurt someone's feelings. Nuisance posts, such as "In before the lock," "******" or other needless bumps just recycle bad threads and force good ones off the first page of the forum.

When are negative comments allowed?

* If you know a "deal" is a scam.
* If there is any other reason to warn others about an offer or link. For example, if a particular vendor is known to spam the living daylights out of your email after you've purchased from them, it would be nice to let prospective buyers here know about it. Also, if you know a vendor has a bad reseller rating, you are doing your fellow members a favor by warning them.

We hope you find the deals you want. It is our hope that this forum, along with the rest of our Marketplace forums, continue to provide quality prices, items, and service to our member base. Happy posting!
