    Some things I have planned:

    1. Ferrari and Lamborghini factory tours - 2hrs south of Milan
    2. Visit Germany and possibly drive the Autobahn, possibly going to the BMW factory.

    Any ideas?

Do you know any basic Italian and/or German or are bringing someone that does know? If not, maybe purchase a basic dictionary. Most people in big cities here speak english but it may still help you out a bit.

If you plan on bringing any electronics, make sure they're compatible for 220 watts. Pretty much all lap tops are. My shaver was. You will also need to get an adapter for the different plugs they have here. This should be available at Radio Shack for like 3 bucks.

Bring an open attitude and expectation of a good time. Maybe even plan some of the specifics of the trip. No one wants to be on a minute to minuet itinerary their whole vacation but it's good to know what sites are worth visiting beforehand.

That's all I can think of right now.

I just did a small trip through Germany and a few other countries with my cousin. It was his first time in Europe. Here are a few things that he learned while being here.

-They don't take Discover Card here, anywhere
-Not all places take plastic. Make sure you have cash in a checking account to take out at an ATM.
-In Germany, most places charge to use the restroom
-It is at least 3-4 times more expensive here than in the states (ie. a small bottle of water, which cost about $.50 to $1 in the states, will cost about 2 euros($3))
    -No free refills
    -No free water in resturaunts
    -Servings are smaller
-When you order water, make sure you ask for it with no gas if you want regular water
-Do not plug in electronics until you first see if the adapter to recharge it is compatable with 220v
