nice
was on bike-holiday twice in the region valence-grenoble-die some years ago.
great roads, nice motorbike-friendly people.
How are the speed controls in that region nowadays?

I'm located in Brussels, Belgium. Well, at least for another year.
I don't have a bike here, but would be open to renting a bike for a track day if possible.
I'm over here in beautiful southern Spain. I'm here for at least 2 more years.
I'm headed to Germany for a 2 week Euro trip this coming March. Going to be driving around a few countries up there. Don't know exactly where yet though. No plans so far other than flying up to Frankfurt and then coming back down here for the Spanish Gp at Jerez.
heh... no worries, northern.
dvas - i was up in brussels over christmas visiting the girl's family.. i always liked that town. underrated. how you digging it?
iggy - speed controls not too bad. the police still let bikes get away with pretty much anything as long as you slow down for the villages/towns. especially the motorcycle gendarmes... those guys are awesome.
john - europcar, avis, and hertz all rent current model year BMWs and Audis for pretty reasonable rates. a buddy who came to visit rented an unlimited mileage bimmer 1 series with full GPS and all the goodies for about 180 euros for like 4-5 days... road tripped something like 2000 autobahn km to see the VW factory in wolfsburg with a detour to the nurburgring. there's a ton of cool shit to see up there.
I have to admit, it was a real pain in the ass at first. It seemed like it took forever to accomplish any remedial task. Too much bureaucracy and too much of a cultural shock coming from the states.
Now that I've settled in and have a pretty nice place of my own, I'm really starting to enjoy life here. It's probably not my favorite European city but it does have its charm. It also has an overabundance of great beers.I just which it would stop raining.
Definitely let me know if you plan on coming to the area again. We can meet up for a few beers.
Hey guys! So I'm lucky enough to be stationed here in Germany where the roads are awesome. I work 20 mins from the ring....but I've never rode track yet so I was hesitating to do the ring as my first one. I think I'm doing it this summer though, since my neighbor has an R1 and his son has a duc 998 and they ride it every summer. I'll just have to take it easy!
untz untz untz.
I'll be coming to Italy in mid June, and have about 10 days to goof off in the Italy/France/Germany area. What are some things I should do? I've never been outside the US..
Some things I have planned:
1. Ferrari and Lamborghini factory tours - 2hrs south of Milan
2. Visit Germany and possibly drive the Autobahn, possibly going to the BMW factory.
Any ideas?
