Do you guys actually ride here in Belgium or just wish you were back in Cali
    Let me know.

I have a track day 28/04 in Zolder so maybe we can arrange something later this year.

Also preparing a competition set up for next year. Already prepared the budget overview. Now look for sponsors and a bike.

I was just in Brussels about 2 weeks ago. Man was it cold. We woke up to about 2 inches of snow.

Yea, the weather sucks at the moment. Not normal weather either, it should be a nice spring sun with 10-15°C.
Last year is was actually 30°C, also a freak year.

I'm here until the end of this year.

I brought all my gear but no bike. If someone can point me in the right direction for renting, I would love to do at least a few track days here.

Other than that, we should all meet up sometime and grab a beer.

    +1000 on that
next week Friday 26th after work? Where? pm me.

    for renting:

rented a Ducati Monster (still 900cc back then) here:
    Dockx Rental - Rent motorcycles

rented a Honda SP2 (wicked bike) in Antwerp but have to check if they have a website and still in business.

track days are getting more and more popular here and so dates are quickly fully booked soooo...

So Iggy, are your boots dry yet from the 28th?
Did you do some laps in the wet or did you wait for a dry run? I was a big pussy and stayed at the side hoping for the sun to come through.

Hey, yes I did it !
    (Red R6 nr. 318)

I needed a change after the first lap but after all, it wasn't too bad.
And I'm glad I did! I would almost recommend beginners to start in the rain (= worst case) and then step up to dry.
If you have to do it the other way round, I guess you could get too gutsy in the rain and kiss the tarmac in the "first left one" already.

the instructors are really putting you at ease during the info session and the pace is gradually going up. no monkey business and you're OK.

because of the rain, I have only a few stupid pictures here:
Zolder 28-04 niveau1 pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots

I'm looking forward to the next day. Have to find a free spot but no doubt I'll go back, in the dry this time

Damn, that looks like a lot of bikes to go out at once. Glad to hear you had a good time. Although I hate riding in the rain (only time I've crashed on track) I agree with you that it's probably a good learning environment.

Anyways, let me know if any of you are planning to go to another TD anywhere around Brussels. If I can get my hands on a bike, I'll certainly sign up.

I'm also ope to meeing any of you guys for a beer one weekend. I just never check this thread. Let me know through PM's.

in fact you go in groups of +/- 8 bikes

    instructor - 7 wannabees - instructor etc.

that way they make sure the pace is kept and they can comment on the riding.
Although there's no individual guidance at that level. That start from level 2.

I'll pm you for a beer when I'm back from the rising sun

    I.
