  1. Awesome, thanks for the info dude! I know when I first messaged you I was thinking "work-related expenses," but could that also be considered an "out of pocket medical expense" I wonder?

She doesn't get 1099 or file anything trick with her taxes, as she doesnt own property so she doesn't itemize. She was going to run our taxes a few ways to see what's more beneficial this year, I don't think we can file as married this year because we weren't married for more than half the year, and I think next year I'll be able to file as head of household bein we have her boy.

I dunno, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to taxes, that shit's always confused me. All I know is I gather up my account / property statements and take my car registration and home improvement receipts and a few other things to our tax guy and tell them to get my every penny they can.
  2. Very good question. Does she get a 1099 from the company.. and file a Schedule C when she does her tax returns? If so, she should be able to deduct the coverage. You'd still want to do more research though and possibly even contact an accountant for a solid answer.. but I believe so. If you don't have a CPA on tap, I can run the question past mine.. no problem!

  3. Yo dude, speaking of self-employed health insurance premiums, how's about this situation: The wife is a per diem employee with a union hospital, and they don't offer coverage to their per diem employees. Could she write off her health coverage being we have to buy it on our own? Just curious, as that kinda seems like it's a "work related expense" in that case. Lemme know when you get a chance dude!
