It's all good brother. Just keep working on it. I'm hoping to have mine all wrapped up by next weekend.

Nevermind about the dogbone. I figured it out. Thanks bro.

Can you measure the length of the "dogbone" rear suspension linkage on your bike from end to end?

I have a 2004 dogbone in mine and I'm trying to find out how long it is compared to the 1st gen link.

If you have it off the bike and you can get me the length from hole center to hole center too that would be great also.

    Thanks man

No, I'm pretty new out here. Dont really have a hook-up for parts yet.

I'm building an adjustable suspension link right now. It will make the swap go smooth. So if you do want to grab that swingarm and shock, you can just hold it over the summer. Ride the bike like it is and then we could throw that stuff on there this winter piece of cake.

Oh, the tire? Tire is the same but I think you have to use the '04 rear wheel with the '04 swingarm. Mostly because of the back brake. I didnt try the first gen wheel on it.

Scratch wont hurt anything. Mine had a pretty good dent in it where the spool had busted off when the guy wrecked. I just took it to the machine shop and they filled it in with aluminum. After I sanded it smooth it looked like new.

If it's an '04 motor and you can get it cheap, definitely think about it. There is a guy on here that is putting the fuel injection off one of those onto a 1st gen bike. But that would be a ton of work and pretty intensive if you dont have the hookup like he does. So you might decide that $120 would be better spent elsewhere.

Sup man. Got your PM. It's easier if we talk here though cuz my PM box is almost full.

Anyways, read the whole thread I did on the rear end conversion to get all the info that I have so far. I'm still in the process of working out all the bugs so dont attempt it until I get back to you. But if you wanna get that swingarm and shock then I say do it. Thats a really good deal.

The main benefit is the better shock and the better looks.
