Default Spidi Pentas and My Hand, Post-Wreck

So a few know that I stacked up my pile this weekend @ about 100MPH or so in T1 @ Streets of Willow. I got taken out by another rider's sliding bike which tagged my rear wheel and highsided me.

I did a barrel roll in mid air, and I dont think I was all that high up. My right shoulder came down first on the pavement, (fracturing my collar bone,) then my left hand slapped the ground, and from there I slid off into the dirt after flipping over onto my back and I came to a stop, finally.

Really bummed here since the Pentas are supposed to be a top of the line glove. Less than 6 months worth of track days and racing on them and they ripped right open on a quick impact.

If the Pentas cant hang, what will???

ho lee shit daNer. didn't even know you binned it.

same side of collar bone you broke at ach?

those spidi's got chewed UP! hotdamn!

you should check out Held gloves. from what i've seen/heard/read, their stitching is second to none and i believe some gloves in their line are made from kangaroo leather.

Nah it's the right side this time, so now I got a matched set of custom clavicles.

I know everyone's gonna hope on the Held Phantom bandwagon, but personally, I've seen pics of them, and they just dont look totally top of the line to me for some reason. They seem a little too "homemade" when I compare the look of them to other high end gloves. Ionno, I know it's just my psychee, but...

These are, well, were, my gloves...

Anyone know if A* is still having the stitching issue?

damn, that sucks, glad to see you're okay though.
try out the held gloves. i guess they have a new line out. the titan (damn its expensive)
i bought a pair of the phantoms based on everything ive read on here. little pricey but i think its worth it. so maybe the titans are too? ive never had to test out the durability of the gloves at 100+mph *knocks on wood* but there you have it. .02

my held phantoms held up great when i crashed, but i wasnt going 100 in the start of t3 at big willow. maybe like 40-50ish hauling ass? no idea

but anyway, my thumb part (below the first knuckle between the wrist and thumb joint where its all thick and squishy with your thumb grip muscle) hit the ground first and hard as fuck and my helds barely have any mark on them. The motion was almost completely sideways and high speed/friction and they still didnt rip. when i came back to the pit they were surprised at how little damage the impact point had. my hand is all fucked up and purple and hard to move, but the gloves are money. the stingray part is a little worn down, but other than that they held up great

at more than double the speed though, i think they would have been ok still because there is no single seam near there to rip (its a bunch of pieces staggered on top of each other, and the area is pretty thick.

    Sorry about the get-off bro!

I had the A* GP Plus gloves and loved them. Only touched palms once at BDub and they held up great. Not at 100+mph.
