no such thing as breaking in tires. that's old school and never was really true.

a pirelli rep did a interview a few years ago in a magazine and said a tire just needs heat to work properly. no need to "break" in tires.
the best you've ridden is the best you know.

i wonder why the shops always say take it easy for atleast 100miles until tires break in. i usually take it easy anyways for a few days on a new tire though.

They say that to cover them incase you go down... Yes the ruber is "slick" on a new tire but just make sure they are warm before you hit the twisties

I have used both tires before. They are both excellent tires and you wont go wrong with either.

I had the 2CT for about 2000 miles before I sold the bike. I really like them and had no problems with the grip for the streets(even dragged pegs once, though not intentionally).

I have the bt016 for 5600 miles and they are done. Been running 32/34 psi.
The bt016 has very good traction, probably the same as the 2CT, hell, they may even be better than the 2CT.

Because of the profile, the 2CT seems to let the bike fall into the corners better than the bt016.

Cyclesector has great prices on bridgestone tires and sportbiketrackgear has some good deals on michelin tires

ive had my 016's for about 7k miles now, they are a great upgrade from qualifiers. I do quite a bit of highway riding and the flat spot isnt too bad. they still have tread left and they still grip really well! ive had them all melty from heavy cornering and they did great.

I ride the 2ct's and am very happy with the performance and mileage. Have 3 rack days on them ride fairly aggressively and expect to get 6-6500 miles on them. I'll buy another set when needed.

Friends ran both sets of tires at a trackday a week ago. Both loved each tire.

I think the stones are super cheap to buy right now so I would go that route just cuz of price.
