Default Vee brand tires, how are they?

A friend I trust who works at a bike shop bought a set for his cbr because they were so low priced and recommended them to me. He's a pretty hard edge rider and has a good bit of experience knee dragging. I don't do a lot of tight cornering but my tires are wearing unevenly and its time to get something a little more safe. I just ordered a set of the Vee tires and am wondering if anyone else has tried them. I haven't had any search results for them on any of the forums I visit.

Here's their webpage. If they can't even get the links to work on the left you can bet your ass I'm not going to trust my life on their rubber.

    www.veetire.com

I believe they are only sold on eBay, another red flag!

I mounted a set of these at the shop I work at. They felt tacky enough and felt rather heavy for a sport bike tire. I wasn't at all impressed with the crown of the tire. IMO it would have been better to put a 40 series car tire on it than the vee. That was how flat the rear was. No were near the crown that i would prefer on an R6 or any sport bike for that matter. Thats the one and only time I have seen that brand of tire.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say nope dot com to that. Get some Pirelli's and just be done with it. +1 to all mentioned above.

Think of it this way, would you rather skimp & buy a tire that has not nearly the amount of race-proven engineering and research as Pirelli to save a buck but risk throwing your shit down the road, giving you a repair bill and possibly hurtin yourself, or would you rather just spend a little more up front and know your tires ain't gonna let you down?

I wouldn't ever ride a set of no name "Vee Brand" tires. That just sounds like private label garbage. Just let these guys keep making tires for Orange County Chopper bikes and don't participate in letting this crap infect the sport bike industry, please.

Dont get me wrong, I appreciate value, but sometimes the lowest priced item doesnt provide the highest value. Would you jump on a set of tires if you could order them from China for $20 with free shipping or would you question whether or not they could accomplish their intended use? Why not get some Bridgestones? They're pretty cheap.

Thanks for the opinions guys (wow, not one + lol) but I got a set and got to ride on them yesterday. So far they ride fine. The rear only took a tiny weight to balance, the front took the same amount as the previous worn continental and the weights are almost in the same position on the wheel. I think the guy could have spun he tire around the wheel to get a better balance. Either way I'll fill you in later to see how they wear and handle.
