I've had regular Michelin Pilot Powers my R1 came with stock and I really wasn't too impressed with them. I lowsided on the track and the rear tire just gave way without any warning. PP's lasted around 7100 miles until I got a flat rear tire, but they were pretty warn out anyways. I've done 4 track days and the rest was mostly commuting to and from work with occasional canyon rides.
I loved Corsa III's on my '04 R6, but due to price difference and high recommendations, I decided to try out BT016's:

    120/70ZR-17 (58W) Bridgestone Battlax BT016 Front
    190/50ZR-17 (73W) Bridgestone Battlax BT016 Rear

The cheapest price I could find was $239.98 OTD at: Jake Wilson

Just had them installed yesterday and it's been raining non-stop pretty much. I'm itching though!

Whoa, i'm surprised tires have gotten that expensive, but if they're anything like the BT003rs, you're going to love them on street and track!

The 016s that I have ran on any 600 have been great. Awesome performance and tire life.

Btw...cycle gear is selling these for like 219 for the set I think.

^ Good find, but with CA tax, it comes up pretty much the same @ $240.34 I called up my local Cycle Gear and they were going to charge me $30 a rim for installation, even if I would have bought the tires through them. I went ahead and had them mounted at Contra Costa Motorsports in Concord @ $24 per wheel, which came up to almost $50 OTD
