looking for r6

I just got my license from a MSF class, and have been practicing on a 250 alot, but i believe i am ready to jump to a bigger bike and have been looking at r6's, what are some good years and going rates? i was looking at 03-05s around my area on CL, and an i saw some that i liked, but not sure if its good prices...i saw an 04 with about 6k miles that has been layed down when not moving so some scratches on the fairs selling for $5000...how is that? and what should i be looking for when im looking at these bikes...thanks in advance

Depends on your area, just keep checking r6' s for those years and you will start to get a feel for good prices. ask for maintenance records, I usually recommend staying away from motorcycles that were set up for track (everyone has different opinions on this) double check the vin# from the title to the motorcycle Usually, as it gets colder, prices and availability of used bikes gets better.
