Default strapping the front end down for the 1/4 mile

I did a search and found that a few guys use the schnitz strap but do some of you not use the radial caliper brackets..... where do you mount? And for those of you that dont, you just use the bottom or top caliper bolt? Also i read that a couple guys just use a home depot strap is it ok to run with the forks bottomed out?

i tried this and failed miserably. i put the Schntiz strap on wrong and cracked both front brake banjos. after that, i never tried to use it again.

i wouldnt use a "home depot" strap. last thing u want is it coming off at launch and flipping the bike.

no, dont completely bottom out the forks.

2005, just bought the schnitz and going to the hardware store to get longer bolts for the caliper bracket and some washers

Gotcha. Yeah, with the 05, you have to use some sort of adaptation for the caliper bolt. Either the Schnitz hardware kit or something of your own making.
