I leave the key in my bike. But it's a track bike, so...
I don't have a garage and I lived in a apartment complex in the past and I always chained my bike to something solid. Wheel disc lock are useless since the easiest way to steal a bike is to have 4 guys lift it up in a econoline and take off.
If the bike is chain to something solid, they won't bother trying to cut it.

Mmm hmm. I know what the inside of my garage looks like. You'd have needed more time than that to unearth the thing!
Mine has the audible alarm wheel disc lock that sounds when moved, also I have a pretty thick long cable with lock because sometimes when your out it's hard to find a place to lock it up to if the bike can't get too close, also a cover is a good idea so people can't really know what kind of bike you have. I currently staying in a pretty dangerous area that happens to have a lot of riders, so I don't ride loud when pulling into the neighborhood and I don't try to catch up to other riders out here because then they will know where I keep the bike at night. At night I also chain it up to a boat, use the audible disc lock, cover it with the guardian cover and then put the 2 trash cans in front so when sunrise comes and cars pass by, they shouldn't see it in the driveway![]()
