Default List of Parts I Should Buy After Not Riding for a Few Years

Hey all, it's been 4+ years since I last rode and I want to get the bike back up and running again. I have a list of parts that I'm thinking I should definitely replace/purchase but I wanted to see if you guys think I'm missing anything else. Also, since I've been out of the game, I'm kind of out of the loop as far as what's good for each category. Care to help a fellow rider out here please?

Is there anything else that I'm missing or have on the list that I shouldn't worry about? Please let me know so I can up and running again.

might as well add a new helmet to the list - chances are yours might need replacing. also may want to consider freshening up your suspension fluids too.

Make sure you insepct your brake lines as well. After 4 years of sitting I'd be a bit skeptical of riding on those brake lines (if they're stock rubber lines.) May want to replace them with some aftermarket steel braided lines. Also may want to do a rebuild on your master cylinder(s).

Also, I wouldn't even bother trying to run the fuel thats in your tank. Stabil won't make the octane level go up, and even if you had put it in before storage stabil only keeps the fuel good for up to a year at most.

Not sure if your model has a carburetor but if it does, have the carbs cleaned for sure

+1 for breaks and riding gear. I am reviving a 05 with 30K miles after a year sitting on stands covered. Replaced the following

    new rotors and pads
    flushed all fluids
    new gas and oil
    regestration and insurance
refurbished chain and sprockets (not too worn and pretty new)
    sync throttle bodies
    clean air filter
    greased all joints
and generally went over every nook and cranny.

Good to hear you are getting back to riding. Be patient do it right the first time. The road isn't going anywhere.
