mine is an 08 so u guys know. it shoulg work on 09 also.

    tools:
    10mm open end wrench

find where the shift linkage connects to the transmission. there is one 10mm bolt that holds the linkage io the trans. remove it. pull the linkage off the rod turn it 180 degrees and re attach the linkage tighten the bolt and u are done.

it can work, but you'll need the woodcraft shift rod.

if you look at the pics in the link i posted, 2nd gen OEM shift rods go through a hole in the frame. So when you try to rotate the shift link 180 deg, the OEM shift rod will not pass through the whole in the frame (because of the different position). The WoodCraft GP Shift rod extends the rod to go outside the frame and still connect.

Are thee any shift rods out there with a bend patters that allows you to still utilize the hole in the frame. I know exactly what yur talking about. I'm justnot all that hype on the idea of having my shift rod hanging out further.

On another note. I was considering installing some arata's this spring. Does the arata allow you to change to GP on the rearset instead of doing it on the tranny? If not how about sato's or others?

Other than the woodcrafts, I'm not sure of any others...

Many rearsets allow you to shift the linkage on the rearset itself to GPshift, you'll just have to read the description or contact them to be sure. I do know that the Gilles rearsets allow it (i have it on mine)

instead of pushing the shifter up with your foot to shift up, you press down the shifter with your foot to shift up on the gears. It makes it easier when you're racing/TD to shift quicker without having to reposition your foot underneath the shifter.
