Default How To: Modify Stock R6S Exhaust

    You will need:

    Drill and bits

Cut off Wheel.... I used a dremel from Lowes with cuttoff wheel attachment

    Masking tape

    Hack Saw

    Marker

    Socket set

#10 Stainless Steel self tapping metal screws "Short"

    Steps:
Remove Pipe from Peg and Header

Remove Cap from end by Drilling out the center of the rivits

Measure 10" from the end and mark the pipe with a black marker. Make several marks around the pipe. The more the better....

Wrap the pipe with the tape placing the edge of the tape on the marks.

Get your cut off wheel and cut the line on the pipe cutting only the aluminum outer shell

Once done, get your hack saw and cut the cardboard / aluminum mesh inner liner.

Then cut the inner pipe with the hacksaw " You cannot see this pipe" Lots of elbow grease!!!!!!

Take end cap and bolt it back on with the self tapping stainless steel metal screws.

Reinstall pipe on bike and go.... VERY good sound!!! Better look. See attached picts.

"Note" This pipe containes several inner pipes. If you cut less that 10" off you will be cutting through several of these pipes which the end result wont look as good and it will take all day to cut them all. I got lucky.... Thought I would pass it on.

I did this to my R6s. It sounds very nice, that is, until I laid it down.
