Default Question about clutch cable adjustment

My cousins 09 r6 is having weird clutch issues. Basically what's happening is the clutch feels so lose to the point where it's not even really engaging into gear and just seems like it's slipping. I fixed it last time with the adjustment dial on the clip ons. My cousin just called me saying it happened again but there's no play left to adjust thru the dial on the perch. Is there an easy way to adjust the cable to tighten it up?

there should be adjustment dials located on the other side of the cables, but it sounds like a bigger problem to me. Worn cables? is he riding the clutch a lot? whoolies?

He is kinda new to riding so he's not that easy on the clutch but not terrible either. The bike has less than 3k miles on it

Make sure the lever has some free play at the top by the perch. If the lever is being held tight to the perch the clutch is being held open and will slip and burn it up.

If you don't have enough adjustment at the top there are 2 12mm nuts at the bottom by the actuator lever that can also be adjusted.

If there is free play in the lever and the clutch is still slipping you probably need to open up the clutch and see what is going on. Look for burn steel plates or cracked and fractured fiber plates. Once I found a machining burr on a new pressure plate that wasn't allowing the clutch pack to be compressed and thus wouldn't engage.

    Good luck
