Default Gas tank splash gaurd - removal

Alright, so I want to be able to utilize using a Clarke Fast Gas splash quick fill can but in order to use it like we have on other bikes this piece needs to be removed from the tank. The piece I am referring to is in the picture below and is on a 2006 R6 gas tank. Its the whole piece in the middle of the gas tank opening with the 6 holes. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with their bikes and how to go about removing this part.

    Thanks

Is that not actually part of the tank? It looks like it is, and would have to be cut out.

Take the cap off and play with it. You'll probably be able to knock it out with a rubber mallet or pull it out or something. I don't have an R6 anymore so I can't tinker with mine to let you know..
