    Default Valve adjustment

How often do you take everything apart and check the valve clearance?

The manual says * Valve clearance • Check and adjust valve clearance
when engine is cold. Every 26600 mi (42000 km)*

I wonder if that is the same for people that run their engines harder such as the frequent track day rider.

I checked mine at 30000, A few of the exhaust were on the tight side of the spec. Mostly street miles

The exhaust valves on our bikes tend to tighten up a lot especially when the engine get's up there in mileage. I did my first adjustment at about 24k and almost all of the exhaust valves were too tight to measure. Had it checked again at 35k and again they were all extremely tight on the exhaust side and had to be redone.

A track bike is totally different because they don't do the mileage we do but they are also maxing out the bike at all times.

I need to do mine again. I did them at 30k and they were all right smack in the middle. but I've got 42k on it now and I'm getting a little curious if they're still good. I'm a little hesitant to take it to the 53,200 mark when the 26,600 mark rolls around again.
