I know that making figurines and fiberglass drag race hoods doesn't necessarily equal quality cf parts. I am not too terribly concerned with the end product, as I have no intentions of purchasing. I was just looking out for other board members. I asked specific quesions to see what kind of answers came back.
How are those carbon parts coming?
Lol. I gave up on him.

I don't think it was a scam, I am sure he had good intentions. But like a lot of people that don't know about carbon fiber they think everything is easy and should be no problem. But the reality of it is like anything else that takes a skill. Experience counts for a lot. You wouldn't take car or bike you care about to get painted to someone that just bought their first spray gun off of ebay that is pretty sure he knows how to paint. Same thing, just because someone has years of fiberglass experience doesn't necessarily translate to someone knowing how to make quality cf parts.
Who knows maybe he will still come up with something. I kind of doubt it, but maybe.
