you gotta order it. not alot of places where im from tunes bazazz. kinda weird
so i'm kind of torn between pc or bazzaz. I know PC has a downloadable "bmc race airfilter/ leovince full sbk exhaust" map but i have no idea about Bazzaz. But i know bazzaz has the 8 injector control feature where PC doesnt.
From a PowerCommander point of view:
PCV can do everything the Bazzaz can except we do not have any type of traction control.
250rpm increments vs 500
Control upper injectors INDEPENDENTLY of the lowers - This is crucial if you are tuning upper and lower
Map each cylinder Independently
Map each gear Independently
Trim fuel table based off of 0-5v input (boost, etc)
Trim fuel table based off of temperature input
Option for timing control with Ignition Module - with Ignition module you can have a 2 step launch control and pit lane speed limiter
As far as a fuel controller goes no one out there can do what we can. As far as who makes more power. If you are not going to map each cylinder or each gear then they will all make the same power when properly tuned unless you play with timing which only the PCV can do and then there can be big power differences depending on model.
With regard to indépendant upper and lower fuel injector adjustability (eg. SFM)
The stock ECU is sending fuel to the lower and uppers to give you an overall fuel curve. What a piggyback system is doing is trimming that fuel curve slightly to optimize the fuel curve. It does not matter if you get there by adjusting the lowers, the uppers or both as long as the end result is the desired fuel curve. In 99% of the bikes out there you can achieve this by just adjusting the lowers. If you were to find yourself maxing out the duty cycle of the lowers or the controller then you would obviously need to adjust the uppers also. The only time you will see this is on a boosted or nitrous type application. The other scenario would be the new Aprilia RSV4 or MV Agusta F4. These bike actually will shut the lowers OFF at some point and turn the uppers ON depending on RPM. Therefore these bikes we sell a PCV / SFM combo.
We have tried adjusting just the lowers (PCV) just the uppers (SFM) or both together and we always come out with the same power curve. BUT, some race teams have reported that on their build they have seen performance gains by actually reducing the output of the lowers (take PCV and reduce fuel from the lowers) and make up the difference with the uppers (add extra fuel to the SFM). I personally have not seen it but I am usually working with stock engines. No other fuel controller allows you to do this. If you do NOT want to adjust them independently we do allow you to keep the fuel table in BASIC mode which sends the same trim amount to lowers and uppers at the same time.
The only real big difference is PCV you can add on goodies (ignition module, quickshifter) later once you feel you need them whereas Bazzaz you have to buy it all up front as it's built together.
Pcv(or at least a pc3 does, not sure about the pcv) is going to have more maps readily available for download if you're not going to have it tuned. However you could buy the afm self tuner with the bazzaz. Not sure if the pcv offers an equivalent.
Also, what mods do you have and where do you live, I doubt my bazzaz map will work for you, but it can't hurt to ask.
