1st gen 99-02 recall

I didnt see anything in here on this and if there is mods please remove it.That being said, If any of you own a 99-02 r6 there was a recall on the retaining nut for the front sprocket.Apparently there was a chance of it backing itself off and getting caught up in the chain or causes further damage.I know this is old news to many of us.Just trying to help the new riders.

I'm assuming your referring to the retaining nut and lock washer bulletin. That bulletin was for 99-'05 R6's.

Yeah I was referring to that.I thought I covered what the issue was about.Not sure why you had to assume..: Anyway thanks for the added info on it going up to '05.

Drive Sprocket Retaining Nut and Lock Washer Replacement

INTRODUCTION:
Symptom:
In some cases, the drive sprocket retaining nut lock washer can allow the nut to rotate just enough to reduce the clamping force resulting in fretting the drive sprocket retaing nut and lock washer.

Remedy:
Replace the drive sprocket retaining nut and lock washer on all units in the affected range regardless of their warranty status.
