About LinkBacksI know lots of people complained about the black shrouds that sit below the tank break off real easily. One of mine just broke and I was wondering if yamaha was replacing those free or it was never a recall.

I know lots of people complained about the black shrouds that sit below the tank break off real easily. One of mine just broke and I was wondering if yamaha was replacing those free or it was never a recall.
They weren't aware of any recall when I got one of mine replaced last summer but the part is so cheap that they just covered the cost themselves. Just tell them it's common for the tabs on those pieces to fall off.
I guess I will just have to find on on ebay.
haven't had any problem with mine and i've taken them off countless times. i would be very amazed if yamaha replaced them for free, actually i will paypal you 20 bucks if they replace yours for free, its just not happenin.
I researched this back on the r6mn a bit when one of mine broke and people said Yamaha replaced it for them. I just went to the dealership and told them these parts break for a lot of people. The part was maybe 20 something $ so the parts lady just said the dealership will cover it. fair enough, i would have to see it to believe it though, i could not imagine a stealership fixing anything for free that someone broke on their own.
^ People aren't breaking them on their own the part just breaks because its cheaply made. Last time I took the shroud off was when I got the recalled filter in about 7k miles ago.

the front tabs on mine are broken on both sides. but doesnt move at all. so im good.
oh if they do break on me. might as well go CF?

ok so my right one broke and it's bugging the shit out of me. The dealership by my house was built in the verry bowls of hell itself, and everyone that works there are actualy minions of Satan. So I don't think I'm getting shit for free.
