I'd say in your situation, just plug it. And use a good plug. Just don't do any trackdays, canyon riding, anything where you're gonna be using alot of lean angle. Just do easy commuting, and constantly check the tire pressure before you ride. If anything feels out of the ordinary while you're riding, check the tire pressure again.

Just plug your damn tires if your so worried about patches. Years of having to plug countless tires and not a single bad thing has happened.
    Just do it!!!

This is BS, Nitrogen is used in many applications because of its lack of moisture, in short term applications like racing the lack of moisture allows and absolutely predictable rate of expansion. this rate allows the racer to know exactly what hot pressure they want in their tires.

for long term applications such as highway tractors the lack of moisture slows the rate of carcass degradation, allowing the tire to be recapped and re-used.

Neither of these fits typical street bike or automotive use, so waste of money and no benefit. to the fuel economy argument, it relies on the premise that you dont maintain tire pressure now so how is adding Nitrogen going to change that in the future?
