    Nor have I heard anything "yet" about them catching fire but with the redesign I'm not sure how that was supposed to help with Not catching fire considering that if the reason for the '06-'07's catching fire was due to the tank extending far outward then they failed considering on the '08-'09's the tank is about an inch further out than previous years

    The Fuel Capacity (gal/l) 4.6 / 17.4 have stayed the same. So, maybe the gas tank bodywork did the trick? i sure hope so...

    Yamaha is probably reluctant to recall because they already performed a recall on the 06 with its magical redline
