quick fix for shoe.....lace your shoes backward
I've always worn skata shoes and I always lace them backwards so I dont have to worry about the laces. I've had frayed jeans get hung up on the shifter and I didnt notice until I stopped. Needless to say I almost fell over.![]()

define "lace backwards". i wear dc's as well and wear them 98% of the time, and when im not wearing those, im wearing my sketchers. i havent had any problems with them. with my dc's i actually dont have any loose laces exposed at all. when i get them new i pull them a little tighter then what is comfortable and then tie a knot in the lace inside the shoe near the hole. then i cut off the excess, and after a couple days the shoes stretch a little bit and are comfortable and i never have to tie them. on my other shoes however i just ties those like you normally would.
I ride in my converse every now and again and just double knot the laces. The loops are so short they don't get hung up on anything. Really I don't like riding in sneakers because it messes with my shifting too much. I don't get as much leverage or something. But I've also got this thing about riding with exposed ankles or shoes that would easily come off in a worst case scenario.
A while back I was riding with some friends in my 14 hole docs and one of the lace tips got stuck in my heel guard. I didn't notice it until I hit a stop light and when I put my foot down it pulled the lace all the way out of my boot and it had become wrapped around my footpeg. I had to pull over and wrestle with it for a bit. It was a pain in the arse but I'm a bit more vigilant about loose pieces of wardrobe now.
Just thought I'd share.
I've also noticed that the shift lever on the R6 is ridiculous for getting pant legs caught on when putting my foot down at stops. Something about the way its reversed makes it more prone to catching.
