Default Do shoelaces/loose jeans = trouble???

Was riding today and realized my jeans had a piece of the cuff ripped away from the bottom of the legs... Wondered what would happen if it got into the chain somehow. Same with a shoelace...

How fu*ked would I be if something like that actually happened?

    * Oh, and don't waste your time with responses like.... "That's what motorcycle boots and riding pants are for". I knew that already.

In all the years of motorcycling I would assume this kind of thing has happened before. Really, what are the chances that that would happen, and if it did are we talking about a definite major accident?

ive thought about this too. I have a tendancy to drag my feet for awhile while riding in town (iowa city has lots and lots of stop signs/lights all a block apart. not worth picking the legs up). I sometimes rest my shins on the pegs. i havent actually looked to see how close i am to the chain and whatnot *gulp*

I wanna say I heard of someone getting laces stuck, but it didn't do much except ruin their shoes. You do wanna be careful though, I had a friend with little loops on the heels of his shoes and they kept getting stuck on the rear sets as he was dismounting his feet coming to a stop and almost laid it down that way, so he just cut the loops.

I'm guessing shoe laces or jeans could have a similar affect.

my laces occasionally get looped around the shifter... that sucks! I've almost laid it down coming to a stop hooked up like that.

Wear long socks and fold the socks down over the top of the shoes to cover the laces?

This should keep them from hanging out and getting caught up?

This is what I did with my work boots before I got some real riding boots.
