I swear once I just chilled and let my body loosen up my riding improved. Espicially your hands, I know it's kinda wierd when you tense up your hands you tense up a lot of your arm and some shoulder.
My buddies all told me to drive like every cage is trying to kill you. Best advice I ever got. Sure enough my very first ride one pulled out right in front of me like I wasn't even there. If I wasn't paying attention I would've binned it for sure.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Damned if that aint the truest statement ever. You cant try to be fast but you can try to be smooth at any experience level. I'll stake my reputation on that statement.
turn your head and look where you want to go. everything else falls into place.
repeat, but this can't be said enough:
You go where you look.
If you panic mid-turn and look at the grass, you'll go there. If you force yourself to look through at the exit you will subconsciously lean it over more and do what it takes to get you there.
^ this is the exact concept i am trying to teach my 4 and 11 year old while riding dirt bikes.
do your traffic checks before you go when it turns green.
