    Hey guys,

So I took out my bike last night for the first time in 5 months. I felt like a big fat fuck, who could not turn. I know my balance and confidence will come back quickly, but I was just wondering what you guys do to accelerate this?

    Any ideas?

Seat time, seat time, seat time. I know exactly what you mean. I haven't rode in 3 1/2 years then I bought a brand new bike. It came back in about 200 careful miles. My confidence just needed to come up then I was good to go.

concentrate on slow speed maneuvering. go do some figure 8s in the parkinglot. Tightening it up as you feel more comfortable.

BAM! Once your done and get on the streets, insta-confidence.

I feel the same way after the winter months off the bike, took me a little while to get my confidence back too . I'm finally maneuvering better at slow speeds and around sharp turns in parking lots.

I always felt like a tool the first few times when I was turning and had to put my foot down .

I was doing the exact same thing after my winter break.

A riding school is a great way to get rid of the cobwebs...( I know a good one Or even a track day where you can start to get the confidence back without the distractions of the road. Parking lot exercises help as well, work on steering the bike back and fourth, staying nice and relaxed, looking further ahead and braking. Sometimes just doing the basics helps to get you more comfortable and back in the groove of things.

    Good luck!

Great! Let us know how it goes and what you feel you learned from it! Anyone care to share the best piece of riding advice or the best tips they received from a riding school or track instructor? How did it help your riding?
