    Default Tire slipping - Help!

Does anyone know anything about Dunlop D208 tires? i have a 180 on the back of my 00 r6 about a year old. for some reason i feel it slide around corners, i can think of 3 occasions where i took a right turn an felt it slide out to the point where i had to correct. i just don’t feel comfortable anymore riding on it. none of my other Hondas had this problem.

Maybe some things to take into consideration:
Tire pressure - does anyone know the correct pressure for street usage?
Tire temp - i usually wait until it gets pretty warm before i get brave
Age & Wear- last season, 85% left
Suspension - someone mentioned this before, its more spongy than my other bikes, maybe it needs to be stiffened?
Outside Temp - 70-80 degrees, 60 on a few occasions.

Does anyone know anything more or have any additional info pertaining to this?

i hate getting that feeling every time i lean. Someone help please!

I would get some new tires if I were you. Get a matching set of BT016's. You can pick them up pretty cheap.

how do you think they got the nick name dunslops?

I gave them another shot after the stock ones were done. and had the same results.
I switched to metzeler M1's at that time everyone was using those. and liked them. they were def much better than the 208.

fast forward to 2007 and 8 or 9 sets of different tires later, I started using bridgestone BT-002rs and the bt-002 pro's and haven't looked back.

The 208 is an older tire so maybe its time to get a newer dunlop. I run dunlop Qualifiers in the canyons at a good clip with no problems 34-34 psi. Check pressure every day also. Most people get lazy when it comes to checking the pressure and they assume it is the same as when they set it last week or even longer. There's nothing wrong with dunlops though, all of the newer tires from the top tire companies are good enough.

Wow the old hate for the 208's is BACK. I found them to work well enough when I had the stockers on my 03. Now the question is why is a tire with 85% of it's life sliding. I'd say it's more the rider than the tire. Is the tire glazed over, really freaking old?

I mean they're not the best tire, but you can still knee down on them and I rode them just fine. Also, the rider's skill comes into play.
