Default Signs that tire pressure is too low/high

Hey guys, i have a question regarding tire pressure.

Here's my situation. As i take a turn, when i relax my arms, the front tire wants to tighten a lot in the corner, more than usual. It forces me to push much more on the inside clip on than i would usually need to.(i think some call it oversteer?) Is this a sign that my tire pressure is too low or too high? I'm running corsa III and have always been playing around with tire pressures because nothing ever felt really good.

What are some other signs (other than tire wear) that can tell you that your pressures are too high or low? Thanks!

no sub for the gauge, when going over something like a bump if you know how your bike usually feels you will notice a more squishy feeling if low or opposite for to much air, more bounce. Usually there is low air tires do not inflate the usually lose air. Even pulling out of a drive way I can feel tire difference pretty general though need that gauge. Also check your tires for nails n'stuff from time to time, sometimes you can have one in there fore a while and not even know it. Quick things you should do to insure your saftey.

    Ya, thanks Nate lol

    not what i'm asking...

I'm talking about feedback from the tires that riders will work off of so that they can ajust pressures for their personal preference between sessions.

    Personal track experience

Too High: (about 7-10 psi too high in fact - long story) Bike felt stiff and like I was on ice. It warmed up a little and then I eventually low sided.

Too low: (loss of 3-5 psi per session - also a long story) Bike felt fine after warm up but it did slide around quite a bit when leaned and had a bit more squat on the throttle.

When you say your front tire wants to tighten in the corner, what specifically do you mean? Do the handlebars want to turn? Does the front feel like it's going to tuck? Or does the bike just naturally tighten the radius of the corner?

Any way you slice it, I don't think your problem is related to tire pressure.

agreed. I think that this is more related to tire "profile" than pressure. For example, a BT-002RS will want to dive into a corner (almost like being forced to a desired lean angle or in your case "tighten" the corner) while a PR range of tires will want to have a more progressive feedback.

Tire pressure will affect the tire in a sluggish to ice like feel.

I think Nate was saying it would help if we knew what pressure you were running. Might be some lose head bearings too. That would cause a normally tight steering bike to feel like the front is flopping over more than usual.

Another question on tire pressure. If I changed out my tires do I adhere to the tire manufacturer's psi or stay with what is posted for the bike?
