Default Bacteria/fungus growing on my gloves

This is a first for me. Had a trackday in the rain alittle over a week ago. Came home and clipped them to a hanger to dry that day. I forgot about them and then when I looked at them today, there was shit growing on them.

Has anyone else had this shit on their gloves?

Looks like they're going in the washer this weekend.

yah its called mold or mildew. didn't you ever play any contact sport growing up that required pads for protection (football, soccer, hockey, etc)? you sweat, the gear gets wet, you leave it in a place that is somewhat warm so it can dry, and this shit forms. just wash it like you said and all should be fine.

    DO NOT WASH LEATHER.

Use a washcloth with some warm water, or go get some leather cleaner. Also get some leather protectant or sealer to stop the mold/mildew from growing again.

    Yes I did.

Do not wash, just toss em. It will come back. I have tried it already.

    Sorry couldn't help myself.

It requires an unusual mind to undertake an analysis of the obvious.

    time for new gloves

leather and water do not mix.. I forgot to dry my leather jacket after a rain... left it in the hall closet for half a year. One day I put it on with out looking at it... it felt "funny". I looked at the jacket and proceeded to ... it was fucking disgusting
