So I'm in the market for some nice riding gloves. I'm currently wearing my 2X deployment oakley pilots with the trigger fingers and thumb cut off! So I love my oakleys but wondering what is similar or better.

I love these:
Alpinestars Octane S-Moto Gloves Black from SportbikeTrackGear.com
not quite gauntlet so it isn't too inconvenient. protects your wrists and it stays on pretty well, unlike those short gloves which become practically useless in a crash
Gauntlet style gloves are always better
Here's a couple choices that won't necessarily break the bank
- alpinestar SP1 or SP2
- Knox recon hand armour...I would get the handroid (SOOO PIMP)
- RS Taichi GP-1, GP-X, or RST387
Check out our Safety Gear section for more threads on gloves and other gear.
I'll +1 the Alpinestars SP-1 ($150ish) or the SP-2 ($100ish) gloves. I HIGHLY recommend a pair with a full gauntlet over your wrist.
I had a pair of the older SP-2s and crash tested them. They held up very well, and I still have them. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again today if I could.
How do you " crash test " gloves? Is it like an accidently on purpose thing? Lol

it is just another way of saying that you've crashed while wearing them.
Yeahhh, definitely wasn't on purpose.![]()
oh yea, probably not a good idea to cut off the fingers of your gloves man... i would not recommend that.![]()
Yeah tears what I figured. Well they were my combat gloves for 2 deployments to Iraq and the finger and thumb were cut off to manipulate my rifle easier. So they are very well broke in and comfy but falling apart so I need to get some actual ridding gloves.

that is good that you're buying gear. when you decide what you want, give the guys at sportbiketrackgear.com a call or email them. They might hook you up with a better deal than what is listed(mention you're part of r6live)
