So I met the fiance for lunch and on the way back to work I did a wheelie up the freeway (checked behind me first and no cops) I'd say I had a good 1/2 mile of 4 lane highway with no cars. Anyways went for a little over half a mile, set it down at my exit and exited. I'm sitting at the light with a lot of cars in front of me including a cop, as soon as the light went green the car behind me turned on his hidden lights![]()
I was pondering weather to run or notbut the traffic and the area were not good to do it (had I still been on the highway it might of been different). So I pull over in the first parking lot and the guy got out pretty calm took out his badge that was under his shirt asked for the license/registration/insurance. I have a valid license, but the plate is expired by a year and don't have my insurance info on me
I was thinking hmm I guess this will be my first time to jail...but the guy was cool talking about how he rides, etc asked me a bunch of questions about how long I've been riding (18 years) and if I've got warrants, tickets etc. But I don't, and havent had a ticket in over a year.
He went to the car for just a minute came back and told me well he only has two options since he doesn't even carry a citation book (he said he only goes after murderers etc.) he can: take me to jail or let me go. He said since I didn't lie to him and that I wasn't doing it on "city streets" and he noticed I did it where there weren't any cars around me he'd just let me go![]()
I told him thank you cause right now I'm trying to pay for my wedding in less than a month and cant really afford any tickets right now.
I know from friends here that the law considers wheelies wreckless driving/felony so I would have been screwed had he wanted to take me in, but luckily there are some cool copsJust wanted to share my lucky break

behavior. If you run, you risk injuring yourself, or someone else by being even more reckless on city streets. And if they do manage to catch up to you somehow, you'll be in even more shit.
