First things first...This was a straight long dead end road outside of city limits, all other riders were behind me, no pedestrians around, so I endangered absolutely no one and nothing except myself, my bike, and my shoes. SECOND, I AM NOT PROUD OF THIS.
First wheelie today, it coulda been better. We went to just try and pick the front end up a little, we are all beginners, and after a couple unsuccesful attempts, I did the stupid thing and dropped the clutch in first gear at too high of RPM's for me. The front end shot up to about 9 o'clock, and of course my feet slipped off the pegs. So long story short, I "rode" a pretty long wheelie with my feet bouncing off the ground behind me, and I couldnt drop it because I was hanging off the throttle. I dont know how it came back down, I just remember thinking "SHIT, SHIT, SHIT, THIS IS GONNA HURT IF I FALL" cause I was only wearing a T-shirt (90 degree weather). But later than sooner the front came down, and now I can look back and laugh with the rest of the people that witnessed it. But I now need a new pair of shoes:
So call me reckless, call me dumb, I could care less cause I'm taking this as a learning experience. I'm picking up a jacket this week and heading back to the same spot to learn SLOWLY. Will take your pointers if you have some to offer, but dont tell me that what I did was stupid because I know.
