    Default My Track Bike Progress

So last month at ButtonWillow I lowsided at turn Mazda in counterclockwise direction. I came in hotter than normal, but took it too early. I was all the way leaned over. I saw the edge of the track coming so I made little imputs to try and make the turn until I lost the back end.

I tumbled 3 times, during which I was like, "dont....hit.....my......helmet." I immediately got up and walked straight to the fence and out of the crash zone. I took off my helmet (fairly new Shoei X-11) and it was unscathed . I moved around and I was fine. I looked back at my bike and it had flipped onto the other side when it hit the candy stripe. She was pretty banged up. The boys came out with the quad and trailer and I rode the ride of shame back to my pit.

    The damage is as follows:

    -My ego
    -dented in gas tank
    -bent left clipon
    -Puig windscreen scraped to hell
    -minor damage to tail
    -tweaked subframe in under tail
    -bent left slider
    -broken off swingarm slider
-broken off right no-cut slider bracket
-left rear set bent out at a 90deg angle
    -cracked upper fairing
    -bent upper stay

It could've been worse. I'm just glad the expensive stuff is ok. The SharkSkinz took a beating and held up rather well.

So she is now offically a trackbike. I took off all the street stuff and unnecessary thing and boxed it all up. I already got a newer gas tank off ebay along with some Gilles Tooling clipons and grips. My Michelin DOT race tires are on their way. Pics to come.

did you get Gilles clip ons or those Adjustable Gilles clip ons? also where did you get those preload adjusters ... they match the bike better than some of the other i have seen out there

I got the Gilles GP-Light from Parts411.com for $125. Those aren't aftermarket preload adjusters, they're the Ohlins 25mm fork cartridges.
