Any East Coasters gonna make this one?
I'll be there in A group, my buddy in I. First time for me at this track... should be a hoot!

Won't be there unfortunately, but you'll love Summit, it's a total blast!
they've repaved a few corners since i was there. definitely a fun truck and i really enjoyed it. i recommend -1/+2 or +1 if you have the gearing options. i tapped the rev limiter a few times after i started getting good drives out of the last turn with a -1/+2
Re: gearing - I'm using 15/43 gearing (-1/-2) based on the recommendation of Dane Westby's mechanic Chuck. This gives a similar ratio to stock/+1, but extends the wheelbase by nearly an inch! What this has done for me is make the bike INCREDIBLY stable, especially under threshold braking (ie Barber T5 or Road ATL T12), and also helped with weight transfer to the rear under heavy acceleration - less tendency to tank-slap. It's an amazing change in the handling of the bike! I went from a 16/46 one day to 15/43 the next at the same track (Barber), and the difference was hard to believe. 15/43 WITH THE SAME CHAIN LENGTH (114 links, IIRC).

interesting, never thought of it that way before. My chain is 116 and setup for the larger rear sprockets, so i'd need to get a new chain as i'm sure the chain adjuster would be maxed with that setup.
Going to be at NJMP on Saturday that weekend, then Summit the following weekend.
Enjoy main, T2 and T3 are a little bumpy depending on how you take them even though T3 has some of the repaved track.
Man!! What an awesome freaking track! I can't believe how much fun I just had, like, all day long.
I didn't know what to expect really. People said it was bumpy, or that the patches were sketchy... that track was in great shape! All the patches were smooth and grippy - incredibly grippy.
Started out the day behind just the right guy who knew his way around the course, and we rolled some 1:24s right out of the gate. From there I was able to find time every session, ending up at my subconscious goal of breaking into the 1:20s by the end of the day. The right side of my GPAs is fried, and I need to change the oil, but I was railing by the end of the day! I wasn't getting passed very much at all. Awesome. Just awesome.

1:20s is moving pretty good! I need to get back there. Haven't been in years.
you need to get back out there in general pete... haven't seen or heard about you at a track since your knee![]()
Btw, natedogg, you were spot on with the gearing recommendation; my big- track gears would not have worked at all! I changed to 15/47 on one of the locals' advice as well, and it was perfect for the first time at that track. If I go back, I may try a 46t out back for a little more on the front straight.
