    I don't see the big deal... I'm sure it sucks for the people that liked racing with that Race Org but the fact is if you have a business venture that is in the red 7months in a row due much in part to a slow economy.. time to shut it down.. he can always bring it back in the future when things look to be on the up swing. It's not like he's shutting down the track, there is still going to be track rentals and trackday orgs running there..

    But you know things had to have been pretty bad budget wise since he pulled the rug out from under his own daughter and two granddaughters that were in charge of running the organization..

    That's a bummer. There was an article a month or two in one of the cycle mags about how the rise of track days have hurt the finances of race days orgs, since before track days became common, if you wanted on the track you had to go race! With track days being cheap and less of a commitment, people have flocked to them but it has drained the ranks of people racing.

    Then when the economy took a dump and people's discretionary income dried up, even less people have been signing up to race. It just doesn't make sense (from a financial perspective) to offer race weekends when there is far more money to be made with track days.

    This does suck, but not really a surprise given that virtually all levels of motorsports are suffering. But as Bagger pointed out, there is no reason they cannot bring it back when the economy picks up again.

    I'm sure it has more to do with poor management of the track before it shut down. One main issue had to do with something about events w/o ambulance support. Lots of racers didn't like what was going on and most now race at CVMA. iirc

    Pretty much what Dzuyuyuyuuyuyyud said, really. The few tracks that I'm closely familiar with, the owners want to sit back and not give a shit about the motorcycle side of the business, not put any work in, not provide a competitive, desirable product. And then they want to bitch/shut down when they aren't making money. Frustrating.
